AS The principal of the business, Matt is passionate about horticulture, art, design and creating great living spaces outside...
Originally with a degree in biology/botany (BSc. Hons - Bristol University), Matt worked successfully in a retail operations career as a senior manager, building and running large warehouses for some of the UK's top retailers, but was always keen to get back to design and using his green fingers! Matt gained a huge amount of experience by doing an intense 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in garden design with the reputable 'Garden Design School', culminating in the highest award of a 'distinction' for his final project - a full set of design drawings for a 2 acre family garden.
He has since gone on to design many gardens in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and has project managed a number of garden builds with significant planting. (See portfolio).
With a growing portfolio of residential and commercial work, he has built up a strong client base around his home town of Berkhamsted, and uses a robust network of landscape contractors and trade plant nurseries to work on projects.
Projects range from small landscaping and planting projects where clients have budgets of about £10,000 through to full garden renovations and re-builds where budgets run into many hundreds of thousands.
Whatever the budget the result needs to be a cohesive garden with the correct balance between soft and hard landscaping. He will be happy to show you built gardens and ask clients to provide references.
Matt is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers and is working his way towards becoming a full member, where an extensive portfolio and professional training have to be fully demonstrated over a period of around 3 years.
Design work is presented with a modern mix of CAD computer design and lovely hand inked and coloured sketches showing our artistic skills for capturing a mood or vision of your new outdoor space.
Matt would be really interested in coming to have a chat to you about your project, large or small and can work across the Chilterns, Beds, Bucks and Herts plus North and West London.
